Welcome to 422 Lagunitas Avenue, situated on a quaint street in the highly sought-after Adam's Point neighborhood, just a stone's throw away from the renowned Lake Merritt and its abundant amenities. Originally built in 1929, this 2-bed, 1-bath home has been partially updated to cater to the needs and desires of the modern homeowner with more improvements left to be made.

As you approach this exquisite property, you are greeted by a charming front porch and a cheerful turquoise door, setting the tone for what is to come. The semi-formal entryway welcomes you inside, where you are drawn to the spacious living area flooded with natural light from numerous windows. The ambiance is enriched by a tiled fireplace boasting a dramatic dark mantle, creating a cozy space to decompress.

The open flow seamlessly connects the living area to a generously sized dining space, which is graced by a rattan chandelier. This dining space is oversized, offering plenty of versatility whether you are accommodating intimate family gatherings or hosting grand dinner parties. Overlooking the dining space is the fully updated kitchen, which has been recently redesigned to delight. Featuring chic white shaker cabinetry, peninsula seating, stylish open cabinetry, and adorned with exquisite brass accents, this kitchen exudes elegance and functionality. Brand new stainless steel appliances adds a contemporary touch, ensuring that meal preparation is a joyous experience.

Moving through the home, a hall leads to the outdoor deck, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. This deck is the perfect spot for outdoor dining and creating cherished memories with loved ones. Beyond the deck, you'll discover a garden and play space that has been thoughtfully designed with drought-tolerant decomposed granite and landscaping, along with convenient planter boxes to nurture your very own fruits and vegetables.

Two commodious bedrooms are thoughtfully positioned towards the rear of the home, each exuding comfort and tranquility. They share access to a modernized hall bath with a glass-door shower. Although many upgrades have been made, there are more left for the future owners to make their stamp.  The location simply couldn't be more perfect, with an array of amenities at your doorstep. Explore the vibrant Saturday Farmers Markets, see a new movie at the nearby Grand Lake Theater, and immerse yourself in the culinary delights of the numerous restaurants in the area. Commuting is a breeze with easy freeway access, allowing you to effortlessly explore the wonders of the Bay Area. With its enchanting charm, many cosmetic upgrades, and unbeatable location, this residence is an embodiment of both comfort and convenience.

422 Lagunitas Avenue

Adams Point, considered the “Jewel of Oakland," is located near the northern shore of Lake Merritt. The neighborhood is tucked between the Uptown Oakland and Grand Lake neighborhoods and if you’re looking for gorgeous lake views from home, The Bellevue-Staten and the elaborate, Beaux Arts-styled Regillus buildings are ideal for you. You can also find a variety of single-family homes and cozy condominiums in Adams Point, making it one of the more diverse real estate areas in Oakland.

There is more to Lake Merritt than a beautiful body of water. Adams Point residents can easily access a few of the area’s popular public parks. Nearby Lakeside Park includes Children’s Fairyland, a storybook theme park that has delighted generations of kids and even served as a model for Disneyland Park. The three-mile pathway around the lake hosts hundreds of runners and walkers each day.

If you enjoy exploring a vast array of plant life, the Gardens at Lake Merritt are a must-see. Stroll through the peaceful Bonsai and Japanese Gardens, or transport yourself to a tropical paradise in the Palm Garden.

Just south of the Gardens is where you will find the Lake Merritt Boating Center, which offers sailing classes, as well as rents kayaks canoes, and sailboats. If you have your own boat or kayak, you can use it on Lake Merritt for a small fee.

Adams Point is a short stroll from the 19th Street Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, making it a great neighborhood for commuters. Residents from Adams Point can ride to Google Headquarters in less than 40 minutes, and to the Financial District in less than 30. Additionally, the neighborhood’s close proximity to Interstate 580 makes it easy to travel to the Oakland Zoo, or up to the Golden Gate Fields in Northwest Berkeley.

Living in Adams Point is great for people who love live entertainment, dinner & a movie, or a delicious meal. Paramount Theatre is less than one mile from Adams Point, and showcases a variety of live acts including stand-up comedy shows, concerts, and performing arts. About two blocks south, you will find the historic Fox Theater, which seats up to 2,800 people and features similar shows.

After a great show (or any time of day), Adams Point’s Grand Avenue offers a variety of dining options. Some of the local favorites include the New American sensation Sidebar, Coach Sushi, a popular Japanese restaurant known for its bottomless sake, and Grandeur, a Midtown Oakland Staple for delicious Vegan Cuisine.
